Late breaking news

We arrived in Kansas City very late after having to wait for freight trains to pass. Commerce takes precedence over people. So I phoned the hotel on the offchance that they did a free pickup, and they did!

However, our driver (a nice young man who's thinking of going to work in Australia) stopped after we'd loaded our bags into the car to inform us what was "going on".

It turns out that our hotel, booked on the outskirts of town for cheapness, had messed up our reservation. They were chock-a-block with some business conference. So we'd been transferred to a hotel in the centre of the city! Due to the obvious inconvenience this caused us we've been upgraded to a massive room with a king bed, sofa, desk, two telephones (maybe I can phone Hannah in bed from the desk...), etc. They'll also give us free taxi rides anywhere we want to go. Las Vegas?

The time in Kansas City is...

Upgraded room. Look! There are plants in here!!
